About the Author

Jason Brumitt, MSPT, SCS, ATC, CSCS*D, is an instructor of physical therapy at Pacific University in Hillsboro, Oregon. He earned his master of science degree in physical therapy from Pacific University and is currently a doctoral candidate at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Brumitt is board certified in sports physical therapy and certified as an athletic trainer. He is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist with distinction. In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he provides clinical rehabilitation services to the student-athletes of Pacific University.

Brumitt is the author of “Ounce of Prevention,” a regularly featured column in the National Strength and Conditioning Association’s (NSCA) Performance Training Journal. He has published numerous articles on sports medicine and strength training in the North American Journal of Sports Physical Therapy, the New Zealand Journal of Physiotherapy, Physiotherapy Theory and Practice, Strength and Conditioning Journal, and Athletic Therapy Today. Brumitt has presented lectures on core training at local and national professional conferences as an invited speaker for both the NSCA and the Northwest Athletic Trainers’ Association (NWATA).

Brumitt, his wife, and their three children reside in Damascus, Oregon.

1st step to being a personal trainer?

If you are looking for more knowledge to train yourself or others this would be a great resource to start with before going to get certified. Plenty to learn in this book about how to train yourself and others. Lots of terms and definitions so you can work on your brain as well as your body. If you are looking at a career in fitness or just want to improve your understanding of your own body, this book is an inexpensive way to get educated on your body and accepted training techniques.

Intelligent book.

This is a great book for couches, if you want your clients to be on save side you definitely must read this book, and of course if you do gym it's a must have because it shows how to stay away from injurys, in fact this book must be read it before going to the gym, but not only for bodybuilders ( I am B.B ), this book it's for all type of sports and for good, strong and healtly body.

Don't forgot you got and an dvd wich shows the assesments and core exercise technique.

A wonderful read that I devoured in one sitting

I’ve read two of the shorts from this series, and this story, the last of the Wilder children finds his footing here. Jake is back from the Marines, but life isn’t moving smoothly. His best friend’s death combined with an injury has left him floundering a bit. Coming home isn’t giving him all the warm and fuzzies or making all the hurts heal, or alleviating his guilt.
Annabelle had a crush on Jake in school, and she’s sure that she’s over him, and they can move on to a more mature relationship, one without the bickering and poking at one another of the past. Old habits die hard: and unrequited love isn’t always ‘gotten over”, as she soon realizes.
These two are adorable together: the reliving their old interactions like two kids at the sandbox is funny, they both see the silliness there, but only Annabelle is wise enough to make a change. Jake’s surprised by his feelings for her, but he isn’t willing to take a chance on someone who is “too good” for him. She’s supportive, friendly and just what he needs, until he throws a wrench in the works and suggests they be friends with benefits, no strings.
The refusal from Annabelle was perfect to bring him to his senses, she did deserve more than he was offering, and being afraid really isn’t the point. You want the girl, you do what it takes- including trusting her to mean what she says. It only took him some time, and some fierce truths from Annabelle to get him to see sense. While not off the charts scorching heat, these two had a comfortable familiar chemistry that heated up as their more adult affections grew.
A wonderful read that I devoured in one sitting, that now has me going back and adding all of the titles I missed to my shelf.

Missing Sweet, Texas already!

Candis Terry is a joy to read and her books bring me so much happiness every time I finish one.

Truly Sweet is an amazing way to end such a fantastic series! Once you start reading, you won't be able to stop until you find out how Annie and Jake are going to get their HEA...and don't worry they get one.

I loved Jake as a character. Even though he's home from the Marines with an injury and so much guilt tied to him, he's one of those characters that you just want to hug. Although, Annie might have a problem with that.

Annie has been in love with Jake since she was sixteen, but of course he never noticed her. Well...he sure notices her now. Her and her baby. Only, he has this notion, that they are better off without him. That couldn't be farther from the truth. He makes them whole and vice versa. They need each other.

You won't want to miss Annie and Jake's story. It's Truly Sweet!!!!

Annabelle (Annie) Morgan has had a crush on Jake Wilder since she was 16. Now at 29, you think she would have moved on…but she hasn’t. He still makes her heart beat a little faster. Jake came back from the Marines with a hitch in his giddy up and a chip the size of Texas on his shoulder. He insists a single mom like Annie deserves better than a washed up Marine.

His mouth might be saying no, but a couple of kisses that could melt ice tell Annie the attraction is mutual. The two of them can butt heads over anything and often do. I started to wonder if they would ever lower their guards enough to see what the other really has to offer.

Annie and Jake are in some ways oil and water—and in other ways gasoline and a flame. They seem to be at odds about all kinds of things, but they are also the best of friends. Annie’s been burned by her ex-boyfriend who took off when she got pregnant. Now she’s doing her best and she’s an awesome single mom. I admire her for her grit and her persistence to give Max the best of everything.

Jake is running from his past…but the past is gaining on him. He thinks he’s doing ok, but until he can find some closure on what happened overseas, he will never really be able to move on. Annie tries to help him with that, but much of what she says falls on deaf ears. I wondered if he would ever be able to hear the concern of his loved ones and find a way to move on.

I have loved all of the “Sweet” books that I’ve read and this one is no different. Candis Terry has a way of introducing new readers to Sweet without boring returning readers. I love that a new reader can pick up anywhere in the series and not be lost. For me, it was such fun to see how the characters’ lives are going since I last read about them. I believe this will be that last book in the Sweet series and I have to admit, I’m going to miss this town and these people. Candis Terry wrote a believable small town with a heart the size of Texas. So saying goodbye to them is a little bittersweet and worth the read.

Honorable Company

I had ordered this book from MediaMall Retail, but it never made it to my doorstep. I was very disappointed as I couldn't wait to start making my tropical and exotic sugar flowers. When the Company learned that I did not receive it, they attempted to contact me several times to clear the matter up. I was having problems receiving their notifications, but eventually got them. After contacting them, they immediately resolved and refunded my loss, and gave me a "Goodwill" refund. This Company is honorable and I hope they'll do business with me in the future.

Great Book

I purchased this book for my niece who is learning cake decorating and every year I purchase a book for her. This year I wanted her to expand her knowledge and make some wonderful tropical flowers for her friends & family and this book certainly had that to offer.

this book is excellent. I recommend it for people who 1st off have patience & as well as fpr people who have prior knowledge of making/dealing with gumpaste flowers. in this book, the outcome of everything is beautiful, but like i said the knowledge of what youre doing will be very beneficial. great work!

There were a total of 23 lesson booklets that encompassed the entire course. This book is the first time all of the booklets have been assembled into a single textbook. This book is truly a teach yourself watch repair course at home since that is what was the goal and focus of the entire effort by the institute. The book is divided into 3 sections that build upon each other. Part 1 has 4 lesson and is entitled "Basic Skills" and covers filing, lathe work, pivoting, and jeweling. Part 2 has 4 lesson on clock repairing. And the last section, part 3, has 13 lessons and covers all aspects of watch repairing. It makes up the majority of the 444 page book. The book is written in the old-school way of learning repairs. Much focus is given early in the book on proper filing for example. While the lessons were written in the early part of the 1920s, it continued to be updated into the 1930's and 40's. The updates were described as "completely revised, improved, and considerably enlarged" Being a home study course that has the intention of teaching the student all that is required to open a watch repair business, the lessons are all very hands-on and application oriented in nature. Some scientific information is included, but that is not the overall focus. There is much pride shown in the book by the authors and their desire to impart the knowledge they have of watch repair shows throughout the entire book.
